Nubia AI, the flagship artificial intelligence tool from Dataphyte Foundation, is being showcased at the Nigerian AI Collective Pavilion during the India AI Summit, running from February 16 to 20. The summit gathers global stakeholders in AI to discuss innovations, trends, and applications across industries, providing Nigerian organisations a platform to demonstrate locally built solutions with global relevance.
At the pavilion, Nubia AI was presented alongside other AI tools developed by Nigerian organisations, highlighting the country’s growing footprint in the global AI innovation ecosystem. The showcase highlighted how users can sign up and onboard seamlessly, create and manage projects, upload and work with resources such as documents and Excel files, generate full-length articles, produce AI-assisted videos, create data visualisations, design infographics, develop mind maps, and interact conversationally through Nubia AI chat. This presentation positioned Nubia AI as an integrated newsroom companion designed to simplify complex editorial and data workflows.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, the Dataphyte Country Director, Oluseyi Olufemi said the organisation’s presence at the pavilion reflects a deliberate effort to make African-built AI tools visible in global technology conversations.

Reacting to the showcase, the Executive Director of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), an implementing partner of the Nigerian AI Collective, Akintunde Babatunde said Nigeria’s presence at the summit reflects a broader shift in where meaningful AI innovation is emerging.

He explained that the Nigerian AI Collective was created to make such collaboration visible by convening researchers, civil society actors, startups, and policy stakeholders working on practical AI solutions.

He added that other innovations, such as DUBAWA AI, further illustrate the ecosystem’s direction.
“DUBAWA AI addresses a different but equally important challenge by converting audio into text with sensitivity to local languages and tonal variations. Many global speech-to-text systems struggle with African accents and multilingual switching. By designing a system that understands these nuances, we are improving inclusion and expanding the ability to document, verify, and analyse spoken information in our context.”
According to him, the tools on display demonstrate that Nigerian organisations are not merely consuming artificial intelligence technologies but are actively building systems adapted to local languages, social realities, and development challenges.
Dataphyte’s participation at the India AI Summit is a broader shift in which Nigerian and African organisations are stepping forward as builders within the global AI landscape. With the summit running through February 20, further engagements and potential collaborations are expected to emerge from the Nigerian AI Collective Pavilion.
